Planting trees at the edge of the desert stops migrations
Yes, trees matter. Not just for environmental reasons, but also to slow down and even stop migrations.
Djibi testifies about what happened to him and his family as a result of climate change. Climate disruption, caused by industrialized countries, but with great negative impact in Africa.
This is why OZG builds forests at the edge of the desert. We stop desertification by making the soil fertile again. This enables agriculture, biodiversity increases (both fauna and flora), better water management is achieved, micro-economies are created, gender equality is enforced, children can go to school, ... and last but not least: with these forests we stop migrations, since the people can get a new life right here.
