Drone Mapping 2022
News – 21 March 2022
Collecting data with drones
During the fieldwork on the February 2022 mission, drones were used. With "drone mapping" a T0 situation is recorded and data is collected to obtain a topographic image of the terrain that is later used to steer the tractor and work along the contour lines (water retention).
In addition, specially developed software is used to quickly count trees and recognise various species. In this way, relevant data can be collected and shared in a more efficient way.
The intention is to follow this up annually on T1, T2, T3, etc... so that donors and investors can easily follow the progress via Google Maps.
