Trees also count in Senegal
The OZG team in Senegal is preparing to deploy the Trees That Count concept (AQC: Arbres Qui Competent) in the north of Senegal in 2019. Two pilot projects will be carried out in the first half of 2019: in Mbar Toubab and Ranérou.
Our method has shown in Burkina Faso over the past ten years that we are combating desertification, which is accelerated by climate disruption. In doing so, we increase the prosperity of the local population and stop migrations by creating jobs.
The first test case to apply the half moon technique (water retention) is tested by our team in Ranérou (North Sengal) together with the authorities of the Grande Muraille Verte and Eaux et Forêts of Senegal.
